Display - Sharp to Raise Small Panel Output
October 13, 2004
Sharp will be realigning the size output among its LCD plants to increase the output of small and medium size displays.

By mid-2005, the Tachiko plant's production of panels ranging from 10 inches to 20 inches will be completely transferred to the Kameyama plant. Tachiko's small and midsize panel output will increase as the range of display sizes in its production is further narrowed down to 10 inches and under. At the same time, the Kameyama factory will be readjusted to generate even more large-screen LCD TV panels.

Better efficiency and profitability are expected to follow the rearrangement, as each of the three plants will be increasingly concentrated on their respective panel size production.
